CHP building in Sacramento evacuated due to packages that smelled ‘funny’



About 200 staff have been evacuated from a California Highway Patrol constructing in downtown Sacramento on Wednesday morning after packages have been delivered that smelled “funny,” authorities stated. The packages have been picked up from the publish office and then delivered to a CHP constructing in the 600 block of North Seventh Road. Staff then observed that the packages smelled “humorous,” stated CHP spokeswoman Fran Clader. The packages have been sealed after which faraway from the building. The evacuation was ordered out of an abundance of caution for CHP staff, Clader stated. The packages are for official business and aren’t from an unknown sender, Clader stated. The Sacramento Hearth Department is investigating.
